Summary Care Records

In April 2010 the NHS will be writing to patients registered with Gloucestershire GP’s giving details of the introduction of the next phase of the Summary Care Records Project.

This NHS Connecting for Health Project covers the sharing of clinical patient information with other healthcare providers, for example Out of Hours, Hospital A&E Departments.

Patients will be presented with full details and advised of what action to take.

Routine Flu Injections

The dates for the 2010 clinics will be announced in September

Patients Eligible for the Flu Jab are:

Aged over 65

Aged over 6 months in the following at risk groups:
Chronic Respiratory Disease
Chronic Heart Disease
Chronic Renal Disease
Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment
Chronic liver disease
Chronic neurological disease
Cerebrovascular disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Hereditary/Degenerative disease of the Central Nervous System
Those living in long-stay residential and nursing homes or other long-stay facilities
Carers of elderly or disabled persons
Poultry workers
